Tina Brown writes: "Could it be that it will take celebrities themselves to break out of the prevailing cultural coma? Finally! News of Great Aunt ZsaZsa Gabor, former Mrs. Conrad Hilton, mother of Francesca, who is suing her daughter

Zsa Zsa Sues Daughter Over Loan Scam -- June 3, 2005 [read between the lines - gotta stay HighViz anyway that we can! And with husband number nine, Zsa Zsa remains the mistress of notoriety, bar none! Now she will go the way of Doris Duke!]

"My relationship is fine with my mother," Francesca Hilton told "Celebrity Justice" of Zsa Zsa Gabor. "I love her and she loves me." If that's true, Zsa Zsa Gabor has an odd way of showing affection. She's hit Francesca -- her daughter with the late Hilton hotel chain founder Conrad Hilton, and thus great aunt to Paris Hilton -- with a lawsuit alleging Francesca stole $2 million by forging Zsa Zsa's signature for a loan against Gabor's Bel Air mansion. On Friday, "CJ" was there as Francesca went to Santa Monica court to answer her mother's allegations. But Francesca told us she doesn't believe Zsa Zsa is behind the suit. Instead, she claims it's being orchestrated by her stepfather, prince Frederick Van Anhalt. "My stepfather has forbidden me from seeing my mother," Francesca declared. "He has padlocked the gate. I wasn't even able to see her on mother's day." But Zsa's Zsa's lawyer, famed attorney Ronald Palmerei, says the suit was filed at Zsa Zsa's direction. He says Gabor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident, is devastated, "Number one, that she had to sue her own daughter; number two, that she faced financial risk by actions she didn't approve." According to the suit, obtained by "CJ," the payments on the allegedly fraudulent loan have soared to as much as $23,000 a month, and Palmerei says they could skyrocket as high as $60 grand. So what did Francesca allegedly do with the money? The documents claim she bought herself a million-dollar home and invested another million in a phantom company in New York. But Francesca insisted differently: "You think if I had two million dollars I'd be sitting in Santa Monica? I'd be in Europe." Francesca repeatedly denied the allegations in court, Friday, but ultimately it will be up to a judge to decide where the money went, and who'll pay for it.

RIVERS SLAMS REDFORD'S 'OBVIOUS' PLASTIC SURGERY

Surgically enhanced comedienne JOAN RIVERS has ridiculed Hollywood veteran ROBERT REDFORD for allegedly being the victim of a terrible face-lift.

The 72-year-old funnywoman, a huge fan of surgical improvements, insists the BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID actor has not benefited from his "obvious" cosmetic work.

She tells website THE SCOOP, "Robert Redford had such a bad job. God, whoever did him should be ashamed - or maybe he left it too long so it's much more obvious."

Redford's spokesperson dismissed the aged star's snipes, saying, "I'm not going to dignify that with a comment."

RD says to keep up with the new generation of readers, they must get his story, although editorially they too slammed L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics, Scientology and Tom's new decision to go even more high-profile with his belief in the religion. Radar cries out in its own teaser "Pat Kingsley, (that great PR woman Tom had for over fifteen years) where are you now?" But after all, it is HIS career, and HIS choice. And usually in the showbiz oeurve, if we are to believe Corliss in Time, it goes like this:

[I like Brad Pitt. I always thought he was a very good looking man who just memorized lines. But with his ONE organization, and the deal he made to give his story to Diane Sawyer's "Prime Time Live" (who got the "get" {read: "exclusive"} by traveling with Pitt to Ethopia to interview him and his true war on poverty), Pitt/Guagenti cuts a deal to get top PR, give his opinion with a true, disarming smile, and still get the message across. This man is the Zen Master of dealing with the media.]

AP: NEW YORK - Brad Pitt is taking on poverty and AIDS in Africa — and the tabloids.

In an hour-long ABC "Primetime Live" special set to air Tuesday night (10 p.m. ET), Pitt talks to Diane Sawyer about the humanitarian crisis in Africa.

"I can't get out of the press. These people can't get in the press. So let's redirect the attention a little bit," he tells Sawyer.

"We have the potential to end poverty (in Africa) in our time. ... Man — I mean, what is more exciting than that? The potential's there. We gotta go for it."

Pitt separated from Jennifer Aniston in January after 4 1/2 years of marriage. Aniston, 36, filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences.

He calls tabloid speculation that his "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" co-star Angelina Jolie played a role in the breakup of his marriage "a good story." [Va-va-va-voom! They look so good together. Yes, he is seeing her. It will sell tickets, lots and lots of tickets!]

Says Sawyer: "But that's painful too.

"Yeah, but, well, listen, let me speak from my experience," he says. "You know I've been in these tabloids for 14 years now. And at some point you just become a Zen master of it all."

He calls the media focus on his personal life "misguided," and denies that he wanted children and Aniston didn't.

"Ridiculous ... completely fabricated," the 41-year-old actor says. "You know, you find that these stories ... will turn one of us into the good guy and one of us into the bad guy. ... Most of these stories, you get probably 2 percent real fruit juice and the rest is just garbage with no nutritional value."

Photos of Pitt, Jolie — who turned 30 on Saturday — and her 4-year-old son, Maddox, walking together on a beach in Africa were published in April. Did he know there would be cameras there?

"You know, obviously not," he says. "I mean, it's an amazing fact, the bounty that's on my head and the lengths that these people go to get these shots and the amount of money that they're paying for these shots . ... I can't help but think what that money could have gone to. ... I would have set up the damn pictures myself."

However, Pitt says he dreams of having a family someday.

"Just feels like a natural progression," he tells Sawyer. "And, you know, anything to get the focus off myself. It's gotta be a healthy thing."

The pictures you see are from 1988, I think. I was also a great beauty! It is like that show with Lisa Kudrow where she has the TV Guide cover framed. It's called "The Comeback" . Hell, I never went anywhere, and Lisa hasn't even been off of "Friends" more than a year! (which can seem like an eternity nowadays.) But that's another story. Hope you like the songs (smile)

NEWS FLASH! - SHIELDS MOCKS CRUISE AND HOLMES' ROMANCE

Actress BROOKE SHIELDS and TOM CRUISE's ongoing feud has intensified - after the SUDDENLY SUSAN star mocked the16 year age-gap between the actor and his new girlfriend KATIE HOLMES.

Cruise - who has helped people fight drug addictions through his controversial Scientology religion - recently attacked Shields for becoming dependant on anti-depressant Paxil, following the birth of her daughter Rowan.

And Shields has continued her war of words against Cruise following his "dangerous" comments, by offering him a child ticket so he can take Holmes to see her in hit London musical CHICAGO.
